Churchill Summer Camps offer Ofsted registered multi-activity camps for children aged between 4 -14 years old during the holiday periods, all year round. We are not just a sports camp, we offer an extensive range of over 30 activities to suit all ages and interests.

All staff are DBS checked and have the necessary experience and training to deliver the extensive range of activities we offer. 

They are recruited both locally and from teacher training colleges and universities further afield. We like to have a mix of qualified sports coaches, dance/drama teachers, school teachers, playgroup workers and teacher training graduates.

Many of our  staff return to work for us year after year and every new member of  staff undergoes a thorough recruitment process, which includes extensive training as a matter of policy. We carry out enhanced DBS checks, provide a detailed employee handbook, risk assessments, safeguarding training, cover all of our policies and procedures, run a full team training day and follow-up with ongoing training for all team members.

Our day camps are a great opportunity for children to make new friends and to try out new activities in a safe environment, surrounded by supportive and experienced staff.

They so often comment on what sets us apart - regular feedback that we receive includes how much they value the consistent friendly staff faces for their child, the stable environment that their child receives in being with the same staff and children all week, having staff that really care, the organisation and level of detail in everything that we do. We look after every child that walks through our doors as if they were our own; Monday mornings are spent getting to know the camp and each other, any medication such as inhalers or Epi-Pens are signed in and we make sure we understand everything that we need to in the event of an emergency and you will be directly informed of anything should there be any unfortunate bumps that can be part and parcel of growing up and enjoying various activities.

Churchill Summer Camps was formed in 1990 and has been managed by John Jones since 1993. In 2008, John and his wife Judith took over the business from its previous owners, Brian and Sue Churchill. They have continued to successfully grow the camps year on year ever since, with son Dominic Jones coming on board to help with its success.

 

Many team members return year after year, to support the various camps and, since opening, Churchill Summer Camps has seen over 20,000 children through their doors – many of whom have also enjoyed returning year after year and have even then gone on to become staff members at the camps.
